It's a Fjastad Christmas!

A picture from Roy of the cousins with Shannon on Skype.
added on 1/20/09.

Lili is ready and waiting for the family to arrive. The floors are clean, not for long...

This was the year of the Un-Christmas. The only gifts were for the babies.

This bar was my grandfathers. I found it at dad's house, so I cleaned it up and put it on display. I remember this from my childhood. It has a secret drawer that pops out.

Here is Lacey with the newest member of the Fjastad family - Dean. He is such a sweet little guy. And - Lacey is such a good mommy.

Auntie Lisa with Lacey and Dean.

Lisa and Grant - I'm so glad you could make it to the party.

Shannon visited with everyone on Skype. She was sad that she couldn't be here with her cousins. They all took a picture with her, but I haven't seen it yet.

Here is a 4 generation picture. Great-grandpa Roy, grandpa Roy Jr., mommy Amanda and baby Ryder.

Lacey and Dean are watching Mickey Mouse rock and sing Christmas songs.

Dean and Ryder together - sort of.

Grant and Lisa entertained us with music from the piano. They are both in band at high school.

The babies both got neat presents from Grandpa Roy and Grandma Lynne.

Here are the cousins - Lacey - Kristen - Amanda and Grant. Missing are Shannon and Erik.

Kristen the Santa Dean.

You just want to gobble him up.

On Christmas morning, Carl and I opened the one gift from Jen at his work. We let Lili tear up some paper for old times sake, but she barely did that. The Christmas party on Sunday with the family was the Christmas celebration for us. We just hung out on Christmas day, visited Bobby and Dawna for a bit and ate some good tamales.

I made a really good turkey dinner on Christmas day. So Carl and I are eating it for a few days.

This is our little tree. It makes Charlie Brown's tree look good. Ha Ha Ha - Ho Ho Ho.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone. I wish you all a healthy and prosperous 2009.

Community Christmas Crawl III

Saturday night was our 3rd annual crawl, which is a progressive dinner with about 20 to 25 people. The first 2 years we went to 4 houses and this year we decided to cut it down to 3. There's just not enough time to move 4 times. Everyone wore their Christmas sweater and brought their festive drinking glass.
We started off at Joni and Brandie's for cocktails and appetizers at 5 pm. Here is Carol getting started.
Bill and Nancy (Lori's parents) with Carol in the middle.
Nancy, Kelly, Teresa and Billie.
Carl with Cathy and Judy.
Gene and Rondi.
Pee Wee Peron (Tim)
Hi Brandie!
I was up on the ceiling when I took this shot.
Here is a video clip of the first stop.
Leaving to go to the 2nd house.
Next stop - Pete and Carol's house for the main course.
Here are the 3 amigos.
A happy Kelly with his bowl of chili and beans by Carol.
Brian is teasing Cooper.
Kelly, Cathy, Lori's back, and Nancy's head. Betty and Nancy brought salads.

Pete, Kelly and Neil - just figuring things out.

Carl and me.
Again - Carl and Me. Posing!
For dessert - we headed across the street to Neil and Rondi's house.
Dessert Video - Yum!
Even though it was freezing cold outside, people still hung out in the back yard.

Carol - enjoying the outside, until she started to freeze, then had to go in and bundle up .

The host family - Neil - Sean - Rondi.
Jack and Rondi.
It was another wonderful gathering with good friends. Sorry that Ron and Yvonne were too sick to make it, hope you're both feeling better soon. We also missed Matt and Nicole and Peter and Casey. Too many parties, too little time. That's the holidays! I sure missed you, Shannon, everyone asked about you and said to tell you hi. I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas.

Art Chrisman's Christmas Party

Saturday was going to be a busy day. We planned our neighborhood party on the same day Art Chrisman was having his Christmas party. He usually holds his party on a Friday, but because it is so hard for everyone to make it through the traffic, he changed it to a Saturday. That's OK, we did both. Luckily Jules was telling everyone to be there at 2 pm, so the party started early. Art told people to be there at 5 pm, so the party was on all day. Carl and I got there at 2 pm.

Dad just moved Full-Bore to the shop next to Art's, so he was part of the party and had his doors open for guests to browse around and have a cookie. Here are some pictures of people and cars.

Mike Kuhl, Woody Gilmore, Me(Kathy), Louie Senter and Carl (my husband) Olson.

Mike Kuhl, Carl, Roy (my dad) Fjastad, and Woody Gilmore (former race car builder rivals).

Nice cars, especially the green one.

Carl with Louie Senter; just kids!

Roy (my brother) Fjastad with Rod and his chopper.

Inside Art's shop.

Al "Mousie" Marcellus - just arriving as we were blasting out of there for the next party.

Cool car from Iowa, with bullet holes in the back.
Roy Jr's Coupe, it's for sale! Parked in front of Full-Bore.
Dad and Carl.
Keith, Gene Barbee and dad. All Bonneville guys.
Me and my bro - Roy, in Squeak's shop.
Tom "The Mongoose" McEwen and Art Chrisman. Art is always happy.
The party went on until late into the evening with hundreds of people attending. Jules Alvarez makes delicious food and serves everyone dinner. Next year we'll stay for the entire event.
