On February 10th, a Friday, Carl boarded an airplane at LAX heading to London, Heathrow Airport. He was being honored by the British Drag Racing group as one of their Hall of Fame Honorees. So he flew on Friday afternoon, landed in London on Saturday, drove 2 hours North in the snow (on the wrong side of the road). He got to his hotel in time to get ready for the evenings big gala being held at the hotel where he was staying, luckily. He gave a little "thank you" speech and received a standing ovation. He went up to his room just after midnight. The next morning, he got back in his rental car and drove back to London, got on an airplane, and was back in Los Angeles by 6:30 PM Sunday evening. I do not know how he does that.
I have been continuing to take watercolor classes and this last couple of weeks we've been drawing and painting portraits. The instructor gave us a photo of Adele to paint, but I chose to do my portrait of Shannon instead. I really don't want an painting of Adele hanging in my home, even though she's such a great singer.
