All I can say is - See Shannon's Blog

She's doing a fine job of posting and covering what's happening here. I'm loving that she's home. She's been a real spitfire with the cleaning and organizing.

Two More Days...

Yup - Shannon comes home in two days. I'm cleaning her room.

Yesterday, Saturday, Carl and I had Ryder here to take him to the Chino Air Show. It was a really hot day. There were thousands of people, we parked in a plowed-over corn field had to push the stroller, carried my backpack, bag of stuff and two folding chairs about 1/4 mile to the road, then got on a shuttle to the airport.

Carol let us borrow her jogging stroller which was a god-send because we would have never made it with the regular stroller. We found a good spot to set-up camp and watched beautiful old war birds fly around.

I would have taken pictures, BUT, I put an opened water bottle in my backpack with my camera. Carl took it out to take some pictures and water was draining out of ever spot of my camera. Holy Shit! The night before that I ran out of my office, to tell Carl he had a phone call, with my Skype headset on and ripped if off of my head and ripped off one of the ear pads. The funny thing was that I was talking to Shannon and she watched the whole thing happen, and I happened to be in my underwear. She laughed until her belly ached.

Lacey - when you babysit Ryder - all you need is a good water sprayer bottle, that keeps him entertained for hours. Outside of course.

Back to cleaning! Can't wait for Tuesday morning, 10:30, her plane lands at LAX.

Mother's Day

My Mother's Day Sunday was so very nice. I started out by opening the card that Shannon sent me from NZ which happened to be so cute and sweet, she now calls me Mum.
I met Leah and her mom, Bonnie (my new mother), for lunch at the Cheesecake Factory in Huntington Beach. I had the lettuce wraps which are not only delicious, but healthy.

Leah and Me.

Bonnie and me.

We weren't sitting that close while we were eating.

After lunch I headed to Lacey and Brandon's home in Buena Park. I got an email the night before inviting me to their BBQ. I stopped at Barnes and Noble and got a couple of baby books for Dean and a couple for Ryder too. Dean is learning to stand and balance, the balancing part needs a little work. Lacey said that he just started the military crawl the day before, so he will be all over the house now. He is so cute.

The couch and table are all made of soft leather, perfect for a baby, no edges to hit his head on.
I stayed at Lacey's house for about an hour, then went over to visit Kristen at her new job at Frostbites. It's an ice-cream and crepes shop. After tasting every flavor I settled on a waffle cone cup with vanilla custard and hot fudge on top. Make that a medium. Kristen is doing a fine job.
When I got home, my dear husband had flowers for me and a card, waiting on the table. He prepared dinner, fish, broccoli, salad, which was delicious. Thank you Carl, you are a sweetheart.
So the day was wonderful from start to finish. I was spoiled and did whatever I wanted. The way it Should Be.
Love to all, Kathy

Amanda's Bridal Shower

Cousin Amanda was given a Bridal Shower by her girlfriends on Saturday, May 2nd. It was held at Savannah's Restaurant on the beach in Huntington Beach. The weather was perfect, not too hot - not too cool. I sat with Lacey and Lynne. There were a few players missing from the clan, we missed you and you gals missed a good time. Shall I list the missing?? OK I will. Shannon, Lisa Ann, Kathleen, Kristen, Dana, Sophia.
They served delicious appetizers, there was an open bar, Lynne and I were drinking Bloody Marys, and we all had a really fun time. Here are a few pictures of the shower.
Lynne (looking lovely) and Amanda (simply glowing!)

Lisa with her girls.

Amanda: put down the cell phone - this is your shower!

Gift opening - she received so many nice gifts, mostly for the kitchen.

And.... a couple for the after-party!

Lacey - Me - Amanda - Lisa (her mom)

We played a few fun games - the most entertaining one was a team competition. We were given 4 rolls of toilet paper, and each team built a TP Wedding Gown on one of the team members. The girl on the left one.

I'm not sure what was happening with this gown???

This is our team dress. Lisa was on my team.

Brandie with her bouquet.

Here are two short videos of the shower.

Next up - The Wedding!
