Visitors from New Zealand

Quick blog, then we're off to Alaska.

Mel and Craig and Ruby came to visit us on Saturday. We had a Margarita night in their honor and all the neighbors came. BBQ'd tri-tip and chicken. Here's Neil meeting Ruby.

Ruby is eating her first California orange right off the tree, ate right through the peel.

Good Fun!

The Margarator behind the Kiwis.

Grandpa Pete and Ruby hit it off.

On Sunday we visited the NHRA Museum.
Had a preview of the new exhibit "Axes and Axles", which is famous guitars and cars owned by musicians. Craig is in front of Billy Gibbon's Cadzilla.

After the museum we stopped at "IN-N-OUT", their very first time. We did the double-double, shakes and fries. YUM!

On Monday, it was the BIG SHOP TOUR DAY! Started at Full-Bore, Art Chrismans, and Squeak's. I'm taking Ruby for a ride on Roy's scooter, she loved it and kept trying to turn the knob so we'd go faster.

Then we moved to Roy's motorcycle.

Spent some time with Art, he showed them around. Art is crazy about Ruby, he loves kids.

From there we went to Mike Kuhl's shop, then he drove with us to Steve Davis' shop, and then to Chip Foose's shop. I think Mel was the most excited to meet Chip! He gave us a tour and spent some good time with us. Very nice guy.

After all that we went to West Coast Street Rods and saw Roy and the family. From there we went to the Huntington Beach Pier to have dinner at Ruby's diner.

It was a chilly evening and windy too.

Inside, ready to order.

Keith, Ryder and Amanda.

Carl and I.
After dinner we walked down Main Street and looked in the shops. Finally Ryder warmed up to Ruby, he was being a goofy boy up until then. I warned her about dating California Guys.
Tuesday we had dinner at La Paloma, so Craig and Mel can try real Mexican food in traditional environment.

Today, Carl and Craig visited So-Cal Speed Shop and returned with a new hat for Ruby.

They are visiting friends up in Valencia for dinner and tomorrow we will all be off in opposite directions, them very south to New Zealand, and us very north to Alaska.
It's been great fun having them here.
Adios, Kathy
