Back from Speedweek
We had a great time at Bonneville. I created a blog with pictures and video of the whole trip. It's a large blog with lots of uploads, so it takes a while to hear the sound on the videos.

Check it out. You can see what land speed racing is all about.

Speedweek Ahead
Today is loading day. Were ready to hit the road to Bonneville.
Dennis will be driving the rear-engine roadster.
Everyone is pumped up and ready for a fun time.
I'll report in after I return, with lots of pictures, and hopefully a record for Dennis.

Hummingbirds
I started making my own hummingbird food, instead of the red stuff from the store. I put 1/4 cup sugar with water, viola! They love it - and go through a full feeder every day. Here's some video of the little critters.
The noise in the background is wind, this camera does not have a wind filter, sorry.
While I was talking to you today, Shannon, I got inspired to rearrange my office.

New Camera and New Baby
Yesterday I went out and bought myself a new digital camera, a Canon Powershot SD 790 IS ELPH. Now I'm learning how to use it. My old camera was ancient, then I tried to use Carl's old one that ate up AA batteries. I got a 4 GB SD card and an extra battery. I should be set forever, or at least until they come out with some new way to take pictures.
Here's a picture of the living room, then I played with the editing feature that came with the software for the camera. I identified the picture "Living Room" duh.
And a picture of Lili, too. AHHH.
Cousin Amanda loves babies.....
Here is a video (meant to be a picture). Enjoy!
To start, I took some around the house, and even some test video. Here it is.

Later in the day I drove down to visit Lacey and her new baby, Dean, and everyone else too.
Here are daddy Brandon, Grandma Kathleen, and mommy Lacey, and baby Dean. If you click on any of the pictures, they enlarge. Very cool, you can see all the wrinkles and freckles.

Last Saturday
Saturday was a very busy day for me. I went to the gym and did the water aerobics class. After that I drove to Diamond Bar to attend Erica Perrin's bridal shower. I saw some people I hadn't seen in quite a while. Cathy and Kim were there. Erica's family put on a very nice event, and Erica got so many cool shower gifts.
Here are Cathy and Kim...
Me, Kim and Cathy
Kelly and Erica. Kelly was her assistant as she opened her gifts.
In the evening, Cathy and Tim, Ty and Kim, Rondi and Neil, and Carl and I went to the "Concert Under the Stars" fundraising event at the Hafif estate in La Verne. What a great night. It's a fundraiser for different groups, ours was for Habitat for Humanity. The Hafif Family puts on a wonderful evening with appetizers, dinner, drinks, live music and dancing, on a 150 acre estate. It's held in a huge grassy park-like area with beautifully lit trees and landscaping.
Everyone there had a wonderful time. Especially Cathy P. She always has the "best" time. Until someone stepped on her foot while she was line-dancing.... barefoot. Even Carl danced. Thanks Carl.
Then on Sunday I went with Teresa to help her and Keith organize some of the family heirlooms in the Long family home. We really cleaned up and out. I'm very proud of the 3 of us.
PS.... Here are a couple of blurry pictures of my final project for my computer graphics class. We created packaging for a toy. We first had to make a spin off of an existing toy, so I chose the Cars character, and made it a girls version named "Queenie".

This was a good class, very challenging.
